Cleaning Up My Bathroom Post 2
Step 2: Cleaning out and decluttering my bathroom
Effectively my aim is to have a clutter free setup with next to nothing on my bench top (apart from the makeup organiser) with the rest hidden away in drawers and cupboards. I started off by pulling absolutely everything out of the drawers and cupboards and giving them a good clean, then followed by throwing away things I didn't need and neatly organising the remainer. I am so indecisive I actually needed a 'blue print' for what I was going to put where in my bathroom (geeky).
My plan of the bathroom cupboard/drawers
My plan for the makeup organiser drawers. One thing I love about these is I can basically fill up all the drawers with what I like and then put the drawers where I please after I have decided!
After doing my plans for where everything was going it was time to clean EVERYTHING, I removed all my pans, cleaned my palette cases, cleaned foundation brushes, blushes, eyeshadows EVERYTHING.

Cleaning Up My Bathroom Post 1
My bathroom is always a mess. It is no secret I have more makeup then one person could ever use in a lifetime, and it is becoming increasingly hard to organise it all, meaning most of the time, I'm using the same stuff over and over, and not using 80% if not more of my makeup collection because it's either too hard to get to or I simply can't find it! After a few months of dreading cleaning my bathroom up I knew it was finally time to do so, but this was going to take careful planning and organisation to be a success.
Step 1: Finding a solution
After careful consideration as to exactly how I was going to organise my bathroom I was reminded of excess space I had in my drawers and cupboards, but this still wasn't enough, so I started researching makeup organisers after watching an episode of the Kardashians and seeing their amazing makeup organisers. Much to my delight I found one nearly identical, including the flip top lid, and best of all it's HUGE! I ordered this baby of eBay and it was delivered within a few days. The quality is great and made of strong acrylic, it was also packed very well.
Measurements for this unit are 30cm (W) X 30cm (L) X 38cm (H). Each of the drawers is a massive 6cm deep which pretty much caters for a LOT of makeup products.
The makeup organiser did cost $159 from this ebay store which could definitely be considered pricey but I could justify it because that was including postage (and the thing weighs 7kg without taking into consideration packaging weight) and it's pretty huge and I think it's something that will last a long time and is also easy to clean and rearrange and not something I would get sick of.
Alongside my drawer and cupboard space in my bathroom I am confident my little project will be a success.

ASOS Haul
Yesterday I made my first ever purchase on ASOS, I'm sure after the fantastic experience it won't be my last. I was very impressed with the layout of the online store and found it extremely easy to find my way around or narrow my search to find particular items I was looking for. I wasn't originally planning to do an online shopping haul but after finding MANY items that I loved and receiving my tax return I thought why not spoil myself once in a while (who am I kidding really - I just a few months ago got back from an amazing overseas trip and spent way too much money! haha). Another thing I love about the site is that you are able to flick between currencies, so I can browse in AUD and not get tricked into thinking somethings cheaper then it actually is as I might do if browsing in pounds! Standard international shipping to Australia from ASOS is free which is not something a lot of online stores offer. Hooray! (You can also pay an extra 20 pounds and get express postage if your desp). And furthermore shipping seems fast (it's a bit hard to comment on this because obviously I still haven't received my item) it says I will receive my item on or before next Friday, if this rings true I will be VERY impressed. Another thing I love about the ASOS website is that all the clothes are modelled on REAL people (NOT MANNEQUINS - I'm looking at YOU Topshop) so much more convincing to see it on a real person, even if they aren't my size or body shape. Also - catwalk view, you have to see it to believe it - so amazing, gives you so much more idea about the shape of the dress and lets you see it from more angles, I actually got a bit sad to see one of the items I wanted to look at didn't have catwalk view! I honestly think a lot of online retailers could benefit from taking a page out of the ASOS book. The only issue I really encountered was one that couldn't really be avoided when online shopping - not being able to try the clothes on. I'm a bit worried about the sizes but after consulting a few people I decided to go for the same size as I am in Australia and hope for the best. I've also heard that ASOS sizes can also vary between sizes so it will be interesting to see how they fit. Fingers crossed everything fits!
My purchases (all pictures taken from the ASOS website)
ASOS Lace Bodycon Dress in Black
ASOS Jersey Grecian Maxi in Black, secretly I got this for when I get spray tans, and just bumming around in.
Rare Multi Sequin Mini Skirt - I LOVEEE THISS
Lipsy Colour Block Frill Bandeau Dress
ASOS Dress With Cross Back in Orange
ASOS Tulip Dress With Tie Back in Sky Blue
Also while I'm here I thought I'd post this super cute Peter Alexander bag I got the other day. It's the perfect size for overnighters (a good size to avoid the 'I didn't realise you were moving in comment') and I am in love with the colour. I'm a bit of a purple fan at the moment!
Princess Bag in Juno Lilac (all pictures taken from the Peter Alexander website)
Little cuties!
While I'm here I may as well mention there is a code for the ASOS website which you can enter at the checkout to receive 20% off new stock ASOS items. Here it is: 'HAPPYLFW'

Jewelled/Rainbow Eyes Tutorial
As requested! Step by step photos of how I do my rainbow eyes! This is a fun one and with the right products actually really easy to do. Also great because you can change up the colours and get a completely different look. E.g. try swapping the orange, pink and purple with the green and blue so the oranges/pinks/purples are underneath the top is greens/blues.
To achieve this eye look I used the Ben Nye Lumiere Grande Colour Palette. Ben Nye makeup is designed for performance makeup so it is VERY pigmented but I highly recommend this palette if you love bright colours because the colour pay off is amazing, you need barely any and it lasts all day. You can by this from Hub Makeup in Australia but I find the cheapest way is via eBay or internet from overseas.
Here is step-by-step instructions (with pictures of course!) on how I did my rainbow coloured eyeshadow
1) open up my amazing and bright coloured Ben Nye Lumiere Grande Shadow Palette (see awesomeness below)
2) Put foundation on, prime the eye, you don't really need to use a eye primer with this shadow it's that pigmented but what I did is when I was applying my YSL touche eclat under my eyes, I also put a small amount on the lid, rubbed it in, then powdered over the top. Now, FILL IN EYEBROWS, a must for a polished and completed eye look! Next, use a neutral colour (sorry to state the obvious - but NOT FROM THIS PALETTE) and wash only on the brow bone, not on the lid. I always start with this because I find it makes the colours easier to blend in the socket. I don't know maybe I'm crazy, it's just how I do it. I used Gorgeous Cosmetics eyeshadow in 'natural'.
3) Now we start adding colour, Lets divide the eyelid into three sections, for the outer third I applied Azalea, the bright pink colour in the palette, with a medium sized shader brush. Just apply on the eyelid, don't bring any colour into the socket at all yet.
4) Apply 'Tangerine' on the middle third of the eyelid, right next to the pink, don't worry too much about blending it yet, just press it on with a medium shader brush, again, avoid putting any product into the socket area.
5) With a smaller shader brush apply 'Iced Gold' on the inner third of the eyelid, I also bring some around the inner corner of the eye, because it's a light colour it can help to give the illusion of the eyes being bigger, there is no doubt I need this. Damn my beady eyes! We still aren't worrying about blending at this stage folks!
6) Now we are going to start working on that beautiful thing we call that socket that has the ability to make your eyes look a billion times bigger and more beautiful. Grab your fluffy brushes people, dip the brush lightly into 'Amethyst' and tap the brush once to make sure any loose shadow falls off before you put it to your eye, otherwise you get that ugly fallout, and trust me, you want to avoid any sort of purple fall out under your eye for obvious reasons! When putting colour into the socket, and blending it into others, it's always best to start with less, then build from there accordingly. It's easy to add more as you go along but not so easy to remove if there is too much product on your eyes! To get the desired beautiful blended look, go ahead and poke that brush straight into your socket and use a combination of tiny circular movements and back and forward movements in the socket or crease, you will start to see your pink and purple blending together. At this stage (especially if you have small eyes like me) you might start to see your 'Azalea' fading but don't stress, once you have blended your 'Amethyst' into your socket to your desire then go ahead and touch up that 'Azalea' again so it's as bright as ever. Even if you end up alternating blending the purple and touching up the pink a few times that's fine. At this time you can also add anymore 'Tangarine' or 'Iced Gold' to brighten them up if you please, also you can start overlapping them the tiniest bit and you will find the shadows blend into themselves quite well without much effort.
7) Now we will start working on the lower lash line of the eye. Apply 'Chartreuse' to the Lower lash line, starting at about the outer edge of the colourful part of your eye, work close to the lower lash line and bring the colour to the inner corner, stopping at the tear duct.
8) Starting in the outer corner of the lower lash line apply 'Cosmic Blue' and blend all the way along until you get to the green and blend the two colours together.
9) Apply black eyeliner to the upper lash line. I suggest gel or liquid eyeliner for this look. I used Gorgeous Cosmetics iInk in 'Carbon Black' which is in a pencil form but is very soft so I was able to paint it into a thin angled eyeliner brush and draw it on with the brush, giving you a whole lot more control then if you were to apply using the pencil itself. If you struggle with eyeliner, don't try to draw the whole line in one shot, start with a series of little lines and then join them all together. When doing my eyeliner I also fill in the upper lash line, as I find it gives the lashes more volumes and actually fills in any gaps. This can be a bit tricky if you haven't done before because it can be a bit weird to feel and definitely DON'T try with liquid eyeliner - it won't work. I normally just grab the pencil as is and run the very tip under my lash line.
10) Apply desired amount of mascara and there you have your beautiful rainbow eye.
These photos were taking using flash so the colours are actually a bit more vibrant in real life, so fun! I was sad to remove this at bedtime!
Hope you enjoyed :)
